The ADES workshop for ICT skills capacity building for secretaries, administrative staff and finance officers that was held on January 26th, 2019 in the computer lab of the college Technology in the University of Buea compromised of three sessions.
The third and final session was the Plenary session which was led by Dr Vegah he discussed BCS (British Computer Society Certification) and the ECDL (European Computer Driving License) program, which is based on Industry standard skills set on Microsoft Office Software Packages, including web-editing. He also presented and discussed the relationship and relevance of the excel workshop session and database-format files, generated from spreadsheet data analysis, and “exported” to the E-learn system, for further processing.
Activities of the COT-UB and ADES-UK ICT E-learning centre were also presented and discussed emphasizing the following key activities and programs:
1. Supplementary and Support Courses for College and University Students;
2. ICT Skills-Gap Courses and Solutions for Local Businesses
3. Business Staff development for ICT skills;
4. Online / E-learning Courses in ICT and Engineering, for University Foundation year Students, leading to BCS accredited ECDL/ICDL (European and International Computer Driving License)
